The Traitor

I have played the traitor before,
Selling out and destroying for gain,
For my thirty pieces of silver,
Not concerned with another’s pain.
I may still not know what it means
To lay down my life for my friends
But, taking one day at a time,
And shifting in my paradigm,
I try my best when put to test
And aim for better, healing ends.
