A Tip of the Hat to Nature

You never realize how artificial
The world has become until you step
Out of the city and into the open.
In the city, you are catered to.
Everything is designed
With you in mind.
Coincidentally, so was nature.
But, we felt we could do better.
So, instead of a field,
We paved a road,
And instead of a mountain,
We built towers.
And we grew arrogant, so arrogant,
In our creating powers.
