Getting Back What We’ve Lost

By Andrew R. Duckworth

Humanity has lost a lot,
But what has been lost can be found
If you look beyond the screen,
Beyond the shallow and mean
Comments of the stranger
With the same hopes of being seen.
We sheltered ourselves from beauty,
From the shapes created in the clay,
From the sun rays of a beautiful day.
But we can walk outside,
Breathe the fresh air,
And admire the pleasant views there.
Who told you to stay inside
When the best of nature waits?
