Reality Amid Majesty

The more you hold on to
The more you carry,
And the more you carry
The more you’ll be weighed down.
I have a firm grip on the plants
Growing up the mountainside.
I’m holding on to the mountaintops,
That last bit of snow.
I’ll carry that view with me,
The one looking down to the valley.
But those won’t weigh me down.
Those do not burden like the weight
Of anger and distress.
But they do keep me anchored,
Realizing my place, my thoughts,
Reality amid majesty.
