Talking is the art of boxing for them on the journey through canyons-
Calculated, strategized, one two punch with jabs left and right.
Their story is written in the rock- layers from different years.
The bottom layer of the rock is red, and the dad sees a casing of time.
The boy wonders who had to die to paint the rock with blood.
Cain murdered Abel in the first act of violence against humanity,
But that was long ago, arrows ago, bullets ago, wars ago.
We’ve had the television, the internet since, anti-social media,
We’ve had news reports go from uplifting to apocalyptic.
