Redemption

By Andrew R. Duckworth

I find myself asking daily
For redemption that I so need.
It is not that I believe
That God has not saved,
But that I know what each day is.

Each day is a gift,
Yet each day is an opportunity,
And without guidance upon
This fragile, feeble heart,
I may make the wrong decision.

Each day, I am called
To take up my cross,
To die to self.
With guidance from on high,
My Redeemer steps with me
On stormy shores.
My Redeemer steps with me
Through the thorns.
My Redeemer stays with me
And does not abandon to the wild.
