The Sacred Hero

By Andrew R. Duckworth

And who should arrive,
But a child upon the Earth,
Earth once formed from His breath.
And who should arrive,
But a King in glorious song
To save us all from lasting death.

And who should despise,
But those who do not understand
The deeds performed by His hand.
And who should despise,
But those who think like men
And feel that they rule over land.

That Sacred Hero vanquished
Death to a prisoning realm,
Not by sword and shield,
But by eternal love
For an unworthy
Creation,
And a more powerful weapon,
A more beautiful gift
Is nonexistent.

And who should arrive,
But a child who will overthrow
The realm of eternal shadow.
And who should arrive,
But a hero crossing time and space
To save those accepting His grace.
