The creek brings them
Down for a drink-
The deer, the cranes,
Among the trees-
The canopy.
There’s a gentle darkness there
That reminds me of a bayou
Down in Louisiana.
String up a few lights,
Let the critters frolic
And get out the squeezebox,
A Cajun Texan wildlife hoedown.
