Travel Plans

I can tell you my travel plans,
But you’ll be amazed to know
I’ll go a great distance
Without taking a step.
No vehicle needed,
No paved path.

I’ll take a chair and time,
Rest for a moment,
And let the mind
Wander as it may—
No brakes,
No restraints.

I’ll be among a sea of stars,
Or maybe dining with the saints-
Or sailing over mountaintops,
Wind and birds the only sound.
But, rest assured, my feet
Will never leave the ground.
