If We’re Lucky

Obituaries have become the news,
Full of new older faces everyday-
Enough to measure time with.
If we’re lucky,
Someday, those old faces
Will catch up,
Begin not to look as old,
As we shy away from our reflection.
The names will be familiar
And then they won’t be.
And then they won’t be.
