Such Power

By Andrew R. Duckworth

Convenience, that demon of demons,
Has broken the backs of humanity
More so than bearing a tremendous
Load and carrying it to the end.

I have benefited from convenience
More so than I wish to admit,
But yet, the truth is the truth,
And in my sloth I suffer long.

How convenient it is to have
At my hand the power of the ship
That brought man to the moon
And to look at true peace blindly.

Such power was not good for man,
But we chew on it in our hearts.
