Worth While

Father told me a lot,
Not by words but action-
Said hit the hard path.

He never cut corners,
Never took the short path,
Always chose the rougher road.

It was worth while.

Father treated others well,
Never scolded, never directed,
Sometimes advised.

He never cut someone to tears,
Never berated for mistakes,
Always gave grace.

It was worth while.
