The Devils of Davos

By Andrew R. Duckworth

In a room sit the princes,
Gleeful at their own influence,
Plotting their next move,
Saying they have the keys
To the kingdom, keys too heavy
For human hands.
They have one here and one there,
Those that do their bidding,
Those that drank from the cup
Of wrath and grinned.
They all clap for each other,
Clap like seals at a zoo,
Clap that they hold keys
To the kingdom of Hell.
