The “Easy” Road

By Andrew R. Duckworth

I’m sitting down,
Deep in the same thoughts
I always seem to have
Nowadays.

I’m thinking about
How inconvenient convenience
Is in a world where our
Intellect is dying.

We skipped the curved road
For the straight shot and lost
Our way regardless, forgetting
What it means to think.

The last thing I need is one more
Thing to make things “easy.”
