Highway drive, 2012-
Tempted the devil on the daily
With a heavy foot
Led by the beat of an 80’s song.
Thought the end of the world
Might tear up the road,
But I would take a last drag
Of a Lucky Strike,
The red hot ember
Leaving a trail of ash and flame
Out the sunroof
As I made my way alone.
Careless days without a care,
But I’m happy that I left them there.
