By Andrew R. Duckworth
He had been there, done that,
But I was young and didn’t care
To meet the wisdom in his glare.
I would walk my own path
Without the footsteps of others
To guide my way.
And so, there he was, watching
As I walked away,
Blowing off his word of the day-
Stepping off on my own,
Stepping off by myself,
Stepping off without care.
But just as soon as I walked away,
I stepped off the edge of the cliff.
