One Day Soon

One day soon, this will be a dream.
We will all wake up
From the program on the screen.
We’ll shake hands with a firmer grip,
We’ll leave the guns at our right hip
And we’ll say “Ain’t no better life than now.”

One day soon, this will fade away.
We will have some peace;
We made it through the darkest day.
We’ll laugh until we’re out of breath
Until we’re damn near close to death
And we’ll say “Ain’t no better life than now.”

One day soon, this will be a dream.
Just memories that we once streamed.
