It’s a No, Elon…

By Andrew R. Duckworth

Incentivize it all you please,
But that gives me no more ease
When you speak of chipping
This one, that one, the other one,
Planting devices in the brain,
Things we once thought insane,
Or the subject of whack theory
From some wild man on the street
Screaming “The End is Coming!”
It won’t touch my skull,
No government can force it.
Your Neuralink can go the way
Of fossils without breaking ground.
And maybe the majority would
Forego hard work
In favor of the convenient,
Oh, how convenient.
I’ll take the road of hard work.
I’ll find the answers for myself,
No need for instantaneous
When books give the brain sustenance,
And we’re currently lacking
Critical thinking skills
Because there’s too many Insta reels,
And we get all up in our feels
Because technology has fast wheels.
One thing leads to another real fast,
I wish we can make that lesson last
When we talk about tech integration
And the impact it might have
On each and every nation.
No more vacation
When there’s no more privacy,
But just wait until we start
Speaking about mental piracy.
Have you thought about implications?
Maybe listen to Ian Malcolm.
And if you haven’t wondered if this
Could make things worse, how come?
