I remember when Michael Jackson
Was on the pop stations,
Not the oldies.
That happens over time.
Nowadays, singers and bands put out
A single every week,
And they rarely contain
Much of value.
We knew where to put such music,
In the landfill of obscurity.
The kids today ingest it like candy.
How many times can the same thing
Be said in a multitude of ways?
Billy Joel spoke a lot about life,
Vandross - a lot about love.
Lennon sang a lot
Of garbage philosophy.
The pop stations now
Are full of overly dramatic garbage,
A stream of urine from the stereo,
Rarely performed by an actual band,
Opting for the easy road,
A computer to simulate the sound
In the worst possible way.
Who needed the guitar anyway?
I agree!!!!!!
