Dig Deep Enough

There are layers out here,
Built into the rock, stacked
One upon the other, added over time,
-Just like mine, added over time.
Dig deep enough, and you can see
Former valleys imprinted,
Covered in shadows in their day,
But covered by sediment,
By mounds of thought and reasoning
And a bit of praying.
Somehow, it built a mountain.
You won’t see that on the surface.
You’ve got to dig for it,
Get me to say a few words.
