By Andrew R. Duckworth

We live our lives
In the newspaper,
In reports on TV,
In our virtual worlds,
Nature unbearable-
We prefer the cold
On the voice
To the chill
Of the wind.
We live our lives
At comfy cozy home
Never alone
With one on the screen.
We’re barely seen,
But we hear the screams
On video streams.
We live our lives
In another world,
One we created-
Can’t be debated,
We live in
Our lost world,
One we’re convinced
Is found
Not the other
Way around-
Our lost world
Of screens,
No need to find
Anything.
We live our lives
At the grocery store
Wondering why
There isn’t more
And why the price
Is so damn high
When the printer’s hot
And the world’s at war.
We live our lives
With voices loud,
Beating the chest
And being proud.
Our voice matters,
Not theirs!
Who are they
Anyway?
Very good, Drew! 💕
