In Admiration of the Honest

By Andrew R. Duckworth

I admire the profession
Of the honest man-

The one who does not seek to steal
With what he says or how he deals.
The occupation matters not
So long as soul is free of rot.
Yet, in this time of want and need,
Few still adhere to such a creed
Where honesty takes center stage
In how one makes their daily wage.
So, I admire the honest man
Who seeks to do the best he can
In bringing truth by word and deed,
An example of how to lead.
