One and Only Wish

By Andrew R. Duckworth

Once the genie is out the bottle
Are we ever really free?
If it were possible to wish away
Artificial Intelligence,
Never to be heard from again,
I would do so with glee,
And no one would be replaced,
Everyone would keep intelligence
Rather than shipping it off
To distant, unknown shores,
And convenience would be a
Thing of the past.
Convenience has made us lazy,
Shown us who we have become,
Displayed our thoughts
In a forgery-it was easier.
But this one and only wish
Is not possible, Pandora’s box
Wide open- the contents
Everywhere we look.
