What Three Years Brings

By Andrew R. Duckworth

I can hope that life
Will be slower moving,
Slower and reflective,
Getting a good yield
From the garden.
I can hope, even if
It is a fool’s hope.

The techies want us
Racing each other,
Racing ourselves,
Racing through
The gates of Hell
Along with the lizards
Who race towards control.
