Future Home

Write about your dream home.

For the last few years, I’ve been exploring ways to further remove myself from the grid—gardening, solar panels, power banks, etc. and, if I were a multi-millionaire, this issue would have been fixed overnight, in a heartbeat. It has become so important to me to separate myself from the corruption of large companies who make a profit from our wallet’s breaking point.

My dream home makes its own power—no power lines running to the house, no massive bills, just power generated from nature. But then, the worry becomes maintenance. Solar panels, after all, do not last forever. The weather can bring them to a halt quicker than anything. Wind energy is fairly unreliable, so it’s a no to wind turbines.

And then, we run into another issue: gas. How does one get the gas range to work or the fire place to continue without it? After all, if power somehow fails, you still need it. This has become a worry for me in recent years. We are coming to a point societally where we have let governments gain full control and we are largely dependent on them. It’s unfortunate as this means quite a few frightening things: they can turn off utilities any time they deem you to be “wasteful” or even as forms of punishment in some countries! You ran a red light, your social credit score tumbles, and it’s all down hill from there. This will be the reality in the United States at some point in the near future due to pure stupidity (There’s really no other way to describe it). And so, it has prompted me to find ways to remove myself from the grid as quickly as humanly possible.

As far as dreams of a mansion, I have none. What would I do with such a space? Do I need the private office when a nice living space works just as well? Do I need three guest rooms when we rarely have guests stay with us? I would like more storage, but this is currently my only grief, apart from methods of getting free from the monthly bills.

A greenhouse, however, would be excellent. I plan on having one with my next home. I could grow plants year round with little concern for temperature, etc. this would cut cost on groceries.

My main concern with a future home is finding better methods to be self-sustainable and self-reliable. My dream home is not one that does everything for me, but one that allows me to do for myself and not rely on large companies and large government.

  1. I have a similar dream home. Out in the mountains, clean water to swim in, zero point energy to run my own little power plant, nature all around, lots of privacy for my future family. Acres of woods and nature.

    1. Living life as nature intended. Not feeling stressed. Living life natural. No neighbors to complain about my lifestyle. A log cabin mansion so it’s self sufficient and I can not rely on a broken system.
