Amid the minefield of sorrow and pain
Better men might look towards the sky,
Knowing that there is more to gain
Some choose chaos and harsh rule
And have the sane wondering why
Amid the minefield of sorrow and pain.
Others choose to step up on their stool
And speak out until the day they die,
Knowing that there is more to gain.
Some choose to follow a bumbling fool
Who is more concerned with touting a lie
Amid the minefield of sorrow and pain.
Others choose to follow their own school
And on that freedom, like the eagle, fly,
Knowing that there is more to gain.
And so, we now must stray from the cruel
And yet be free to help them in our passing by
Amid the minefield of sorrow and pain,
Knowing that there is more to gain.
