While Stars Still Shine

By Andrew R. Duckworth

Under canopy of autumn clear sky
In early morning when the coyotes cry
I sit in awe of the blanket of stars
Blinking, glittering, like diamonds up high.

Sitting in wonder, I look at the past
And the gleaming stars that were built to last
And think about the rise of morning sun
And how that view is sure to fade so fast.
