Under Construction

We are not finished in our day,
Needing wisdom, needing knowledge,
Our doors need hinges cleaned and oiled,
Our furniture dusted and polished.
Our rooms need cleaned now and again,
A good sweeping and rearrangement,
So that we can continue on
And give our surroundings full engagement.
We are not finished in our day,
While we still have time to pray
And hopefully we’ve made our bed
For the night that we get swept away.
