Éirinn Isles OR Life at Sea (Profiles #6)

By Andrew R. Duckworth

He was a man who made a life at sea.
Those Éirinn isles show no mercy
As gale winds come upon the shore
And cause a cautious heart to flee.

But he knew there were mouths to feed
Back home near isles of Inishfree,
So off onto the sea he went
And the sea is where he’d always be.

He was a man with heart of glee
When speaking of his family,
But wind and rain caused great pain
For a man who made a life at sea.

The winds and waves upon the sea
Destroyed his vessel instantly
And no one heard from him again.
His soul rests within the stormy sea.
