A Glimpse Into Marvelous Worlds of the Mythic: A Tale of Green Desire

I was once told of green fire,
Consuming the mind with desire,
Encased in a gem in the city square,
Encased in a gem in the city square.

And as that gem burned so bright,
Folk were blinded by the light
Encased in a gem in the city square,
Encased in a gem in the city square.

And so it was that folk gained power
And gazed on from many an ivory tower
The gem within the city square,
The gem within the city square.

They came to shatter that very gem,
And nothing could part or draw from them
The gem within the city square,
The gem within the city square.

Their many blows broke it in two
And hypnotizing was the view
Of the broken gem and fire,
Of the broken gem and fire.

And far and wide the green fire spread
Until the hearts of those were dead
From the broken gem and fire,
From the broken gem and fire.

And so a beast was born from green,
A creature now known as greed,
From the broken gem and fire,
From the broken gem and fire.

That beast dwells within the hearts of men,
And causes all manner of sin,
From the broken gem and fire,
From the broken gem and fire.
